Das wellenförmige Traktionsmuster weist eine Reihe von kaskadenförmigen Stollen auf, die so konstruiert sind, dass sie mehr Oberfläche der Air Zoom-Einheit beanspruchen und gleichzeitig den notwendigen Grip bieten. In Bezug auf die Stollenhöhe ist der größte Stollen genauso hoch wie die traditionelleren mittleren Stollen von Nike, was die Traktion aufrechterhält. Weiterentwickelte Chevron- und Klingenstollen passen perfekt zur wellenförmigen Traktion für Beschleunigung, Verzögerung und alle Arten von schnellen Richtungswechseln.
Nike Gripknit nimmt jetzt noch mehr Oberfläche am Stollenschuh ein und ist das klebrige Material, das einen besseren Ballkontakt beim Dribbling mit hoher Geschwindigkeit oder beim Torschuss bietet. Außerdem passt es sich der Form deines Fußes an und bietet dir bei allen Wetterbedingungen den gleichen Halt für eine geformte, von Spikes inspirierte Passform. Die Mikromoulding-Textur wirkt mit dem Gripknit zusammen, um sich an deinen Fuß anzupassen.
Das durchgehende Flyknit-Obermaterial, das auf Geschwindigkeit ausgelegt ist, sorgt für eine perfekte, eng anliegende Passform. Atomknit, ein leichtes und starkes Flyknit, an den Seiten bietet Halt und reduziert das Gewicht. Diese Materialien ergeben das bisher dünnste Mercurial-Obermaterial. So nah am Ball wie nie zuvor.
