Das wellenartige Traktionsmuster verfügt über eine Reihe von kaskadierenden Stollen, die so konstruiert sind, dass sie mehr Oberfläche der Air Zoom-Einheit nutzen und gleichzeitig den nötigen Grip bieten. Die größten Stollen haben die gleiche Höhe wie die traditionelleren Mittelstollen von Nike, was zur Aufrechterhaltung der Traktion beiträgt. Weiterentwickelte Chevron- und Klingenstollen passen perfekt zur wellenartigen Traktion für Beschleunigung, Verzögerung und alle Arten von schnellen Richtungswechseln.
Nike Gripknit nimmt jetzt noch mehr Fläche auf dem Stollenschuh ein. Es ist das klebrige Material, das für eine bessere Ballkontrolle beim Dribbeln mit hoher Geschwindigkeit oder beim Torschuss sorgt. Außerdem passt es sich der Form deines Fußes an und bietet dir bei allen Wetterbedingungen den gleichen Halt für eine geformte, von Spikes inspirierte Passform. Die Mikromoulding-Textur wirkt mit dem Gripknit zusammen, um sich an deinen Fuß anzupassen.
Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch das durch und durch eng anliegende Obermaterial aus Flyknit, das für Geschwindigkeit entwickelt wurde. Atomknit, ein leichtes und robustes Flyknit, an den Seiten sorgt für Halt und reduziert das Gewicht. Diese Materialien bilden zusammen das dünnste Mercurial-Obermaterial, das es je gab.
