Das wellenförmige Traktionsmuster weist eine Reihe von kaskadierenden Stollen auf, die darauf ausgelegt sind, eine größere Oberfläche der Air Zoom-Einheit zu nutzen und gleichzeitig den notwendigen Grip zu bieten. Nike Gripknit, das jetzt eine noch größere Oberfläche des Stollenschuhs einnimmt, ist das klebrige Material, das beim Dribbeln mit hohen Geschwindigkeiten oder beim Torschuss einen besseren Ballkontakt bietet. Außerdem passt es sich der Form deines Fußes an und bietet dir unabhängig von den Wetterbedingungen den gleichen Grip für eine geformte, von Spikes inspirierte Passform.
